Sonbol Shahid-Salles, DO, MPHPresident: Following graduate school, Shahid-Salles worked with program managers, medical officers, researchers, and Ministers of Health around the world while collaborating with the World Health Organization (WHO), the World Bank, and the U.S. National Institutes of Health under the stewardship of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. An important element of her work was to inform broad health policy in developing countries. In 2010, Shahid-Salles graduated from the Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine (KYCOM).
She currently serves as the President for the Georgia Osteopathic Medical Association (GOMA) and on the Osteopathic Political Action Committee (OPAC) Executive Board. She presently continues her involvement within the AOA on the Bureau of Federal Health Programs & on the American College of Emergency Physician (ACEP) Public Health and Injury Prevention Committee working on important topics like gun violence and human trafficking. Dr. Shahid-Salles serves her medical school alumni community as the Past President of the KYCOM Alumni Association working to support the practical needs of graduating students and young alumni.
